A South Texas school district will get a boost in the pocketbook to help them to build new facilities and improve education in their schools.
The Brooks County Independent School District with schools located in Falfurrias will receive two checks On Tuesday morning worth $350,000 from Congressman Ruben Hinojosa (U.S. District 15 Representative-Democrat) and the U.S. Department of Agricultural Rural Development.
“These checks represent a commitment that I, along with the USDA, have in investing in our rural communities,” said Hinojosa in a press release statement. “The Brooks County ISD is committed to offering their students a good education in a good environment and we are here to help in every way we can to accomplish great things in Brooks County.”
The money will be used for computers, classroom equipment and air conditioning for the high school auditorium. The check presentation will happen at the Falfurrias High School Library on Tuesday at 9:30 am.
