BROWNSVILLE–Federal authorities report a Brownsville man was busted trying to smuggle 25 pounds of cocaine worth more than $800,000 last Friday.
The man, who hasn’t been named, was driving a BMW Z3 when he tried to crossing through Gateway International Bridge. The 32-year-old man was referred to secondary for an inspection.
There, inspectors discovered something unusual at the back of the car. Inside a hidden compartment, they found 10 packages of cocaine, weighing 25.7 pounds. It’s believe to be worth $822,000 on the streets.
The man was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. They will conduct a further investigation into the matter.
