CORPUS CHRISTI–A Corpus Christi Marine, who survived the Iraq war, then was stabbed to death in New Orleans, will be buried on Tuesday at the Corpus Christi Cathedral.
Authorities said Sgt. Ryan Lekosky, an Annaville resident and member of the St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church, was stabbed to death along the French Quarter while in full uniform on October 31st.
Investigators said he was walking with his wife from a Marines Ball when some men got into physical confrontation with her. He tried to break up the fight and was stabbed several times. No suspects have been arrested.
Lekosky attended Tuloso-Midway High School and was a star quarter at the school. He opted to join the military in 2005 and had recently re-enlisted. Lekosky fought a tour in Iraq while in the U.S. Marine Corps.
The funeral mass, which starts at 1 pm, is being held at the Corpus Christi Cathedral because they are expected a large crowd to attend the service. He will be laid to rest afterwards at Seaside Memorial Park.
