CORPUS CHRISTI–Bishop Emeritus Edmond Carmody is set to be released from the hospital either today or tomorrow morning for a removal of a possible aneurysm in his leg.
Carmody, who retired as Bishop earlier this year, was having a physical done when the doctor noticed the sight on his leg. Doctors decide to operate to remove it and his life was never in jeopardy.
Bishop Emeritus Carmody retired in March from his post as Corpus Christi Bishop. He is now working at Pope John Paul II where he is teaching religion classes and working with the students.
Diocese officials will only say he is at a Chrisitius Spohn Hospital, but won’t say which one. Bishop Carmody is recuperating and asking for privacy during this ordeal.
