CCPD Media Briefing Update

CORPUS CHRISTI–A 21-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night by Corpus Christi Police officers after he took a flatscreen tv from his mother.

Officers said Jacob Lewis burlgarized the flatscreen television from his mother.  Lewis told her to call police around 9 pm  so at least he would have a place to sleep and get a hot meal, if arrested.

Lewis was found inside the garage when they arrived at the home and booked on a burglary charge. The flat screen tv was returned to his mother.

A few hours later, a woman walking with a deposit to her car from a local restaurant was attacked and robbed on the 5700 block of Everhart.

Police said the employee from Popeye’s Chicken was carrying the bag shortly before midnight when two males stopped her and started punching her several times as they grabbed the night deposit money.

They got away and were last seen running towards Schanen St. They are described as two Hispanic males between the ages of 20 and 25 and bald headed.

Early this morning around 1 am, police officers working with the San Patricio County Sheriff’s Department went searching for a wanted man at the Budget Inn on the 200 block of Stewart.

Andres Flores, 23, refused to open the door at first, but then agreed after he talked to officers. Flores was arrested and booked into the city jail.

Flores is charged with a warrant out of San Patricio County for aggravated assault. His bond was set at $50,000.
