RAYMONDVILLE–Three officers in Willacy County went through special training to help them to catch drunk drivers on the road in Raymondville and Willacy County.
Raymondville Officers, Adrian Hooks and Matthew Betancourt, and Willacy County Sheriff Deputy Javier Gutierrez took part in a 40 hour class at UT Brownsville for Intoxilyzer 500 last month.
That device helps officers estimate the blood alcohol level limit and a breath sample of the person. The training will help in gathering evidence for a drunk driving case.
No taxpayers money was used for this training as it was paid for by the Willacy County DA’s Forfeiture Fund.
