Marco Antonio Rodriguez Turned in By Family Members

BROWNSVILLE–Some family members turned in the Brownsville bank robber and a judge sets his bond for aggravated robbery at $250.000.

Marco Antonio Martinez, 22, was found at the Red Roof Inn Tuesday after his mother and girlfriend called police about his location. Inside his motel room, they found several hundred dollars, believed to be from the bank heist.

Police said Martinez confessed to robbing the Bank of America on Boca Chica and Old Port Isabel Road on Monday morning around 9:30 am. They said he handed a note to the bank teller, demanding money and it’s believed he got away with more than $1,500.

Investigators are looking for a possible second suspect who may have driven the getaway car to help Rodriguez get away from the bank robbery location.
