CORPUS CHRISTI–A teenager who ran away from home robbed two businesses last night and talked about God to his victims was caught.

Police said The 14-year-old entered the Stripes on the 4500 block of Ayers around 9 pm with a broken beer bottle. A half hour, they said he did the same thing at and El Rincosito Supermarket on the 4000 Prescott, but he store employees caught him.

The teen was taken to the Nueces County Juvenile Justice Center with two counts of aggravated robbery.

An hour later, two people broke into the Church’s on the 2900 b lock of Ayera, demanding money from employees.

Both men were armed with weapons and wore masks during the robbery. They got away with an undisclosed amount of money and ran towards the La Armada Apartment complex. Officers searched the area, but couldn’t find the suspects.

CCPD also reported the Gang Unit arrested a man wanted for a drive-by shooting from last year.

Kevin Cantu, 20, was arrested at a business Tuesday morning and is believed to be the person who took part in a drive-by shooting in April of last year. They said Cantu had shot at this home two different times. 

Through a forensic investigation, officers were able to tie  Cantu to the shooting in which nobody was hurt. He is facing a charge of deadly conduct, a third-degree felony.

BROWNSVILLE– In Brownsville, an elderly men attacks a 68-year-old  in a Wal-Mart parking lot after a minor car accident.

Witnesses said Harry Goldfine, 67. started punching a man after he accidentally backed up and hit his car.

Goldfine was arraigned on an assault charge on Wednesday morning and his bond was set at $4,000.  

Brownsville police also arrested a woman for punching an elderly woman while using a bathroom at a public place from last weekend.

Judith Saldivar, 47, is accused of punching a 68-year-old woman for an unknown reason on Saturday. She left the location before police arrived.

After identifying Saldivar, officers were able to get a warrant for Injury to an Elderly. Saldivar was arraigned on Wednesday and her bond set at $25,000.

In Alice, a man gets arrested after he breaks into a house on Tuesday afternoon, while an elderly man was inside the home.

Brian Lee Wagner, 37, was arrested and booked with burglary of a habitation.

A man was inside his home taking a nap on the 400 block of E. 7th Street when he heard noise in the living room. He called police and they found Wagner inside the home.

KINGSVILLE–A Kingsville man gets sentenced to 13 years in prison for attacking his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend last September.

Leonel Luna, 26, took a plea deal from Kleberg County DA’s office and plead guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Though Luna claimed he was acting in self-defense, other witnesses said he was the aggressor.
