MCALLEN–A federal grand jury indicted a Reynosa man for conspiring and attempting to export firearms into Mexico last month.
Juan Sauceda, 29, was charged with charged in the three-c0unt indictment and is being held in a federal detention center without bond.
Prosecutors said Sauceda was caught with 10 semi-automatic firearms, 87 firearms magazines and 1,570 rounds of ammunition hidden in the vehicle he was travelling in southbound from Hidalgo into Mexico on November 23.
If convicted, Sauceda could face up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
