Alice Child Found After She Was Missing for Hours

ALICE–Alice Police report an 8-year-old girl went missing for about two hours on Wednesday afternoon before she was found at a local movie theatre.

Investigators report the young girl got into an argument with her grandmother around 3:30 pm, while shopping at Beall’s Department store on the 1700 Block of East Main near Alice High School.

The girl stormed off in a tantrum, but when the grandmother went looking for her, she couldn’t find the girl in the store. Several police officers searched for the young child, but couldn’t find her.

Finally, around 5:30 pm, somebody reported a young girl went to the Plaza 4 Movie Theatre, which is about a half-mile from Beall’s, about two hours earlier. That’s where officers found the young child and she was safe and sound.

Police wouldn’t release the name of the girl or grandmother involved in this incident. Investigators said no charges were filed on the case.
