CORPUS CHRISTI–Corpus Christi Police are looking for an 18-year-old woman wanted in a prescription drug fraud crime ring where a couple has already been arrested.
Noe and Monica Ramos, ages 33 and 35, were arrested for getting fraudulent prescriptions of narcotic pain relievers from several pharmacies.
The controlling substances in each of the medications are Hydrocone in Lortab, Alprozolam in Xanax and and Carisoprodol in Soma. Authorities said they are addicting. If mixed together, it can produce a heroin high.
It’s believed the Ramos’ and Krystie Perales, 18, were shopping doctors to get the prescriptions fraudulently. That’s when the suspects go to the different doctors to get the same prescriptions without the doctor’s knowledge. If a person does this, it’s considered a third-degree felony.
They arrested the Ramos’ after a five-month investigation and are now identifying other people who were working with them.
CCPD has a warrant for Perales and she is accused of passing fraudulent prescriptions at several different pharmacies in Corpus Christi.
Police expect to name more suspects in the future.
