FALFURRIAS–Authorities announced two different vehicles led Brooks County Sheriff’s deputies and DPS Troopers on two chases at the same time and bailed out leaving behind a big load of marijuana.
From the two loads of drugs, authorities seized 57 bundles of marijuana with more than 1,400 pounds.
A Brooks County deputy tried to pull over a Chevy pickup for speeding two weeks ago, but a short pursuit started and it ended on County Road 104 when the suspects bailed out. Inside the vehicle, they found 32 bundles of marijuana with 1,108 pounds of marijuana.
At the same time, a DPS Trooper tried pulling over a Dodge pickup on Highway 281 in the city limits of Falfurrias. The suspects in that car bailed out. Authorities discovered 25 bundles of marijuana with 379 pounds of marijuana.
In both bailouts, most of the suspects got away, but officers found one undocumented immigrant. He was arrested and his bail was set at $500,000.
