Brownsville PD Shuts Down Drug Operation

BROWNSVILLE–Two brothers who police said were running a drug operation in Brownsville get arrested and police seized a large amount of drugs and money.

Alejandro Jimenez, 43, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana, Possessi0n of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute. A judge set his bond at $450,000.

His brother, Roberto Jimenez, 41, was charged with possession of marijuana and his bond was set at $150,000.

Officers from the Special Investigative Unit raided a home on the 1621 Res St. on Wednesday afternoon.

Inside, they found five bundles of methamphetamine weighing about 12 pounds and four bundles of cocaine weighing nearly 10 pounds. They seized more than $10,000 in cash and three vehicles.

Afterwards, the trail of evidence took officers to a warehouse on the 3500 block of 14th St. At that location, they found some bundles of marijuana in a cardboard barrels weighing 154 pounds.
