BROWNSVILLE–A 23-year-old man gets arrested after he attacks a man with a crow bar, then stabs him during a confrontation at a home near the downtown area.
Javier Fernando Pacheco was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal mischief and evading arrest.
Police report Pacheco went to a home on Lemon Street Saturday night, looking for a man. They said he had a crow bar and charged him, hitting the 23-year-old victim in the head.
The victim staved off his attack with the crow bar, but Pacheco pulled out a pocket knife, stabbing him in the lower abdomen. Pacheco left the area before police arrived.
While leaving the area, witnesses said Pacheco used the crow bar to shatter the victim’s windshield of his Ford Explorer.
Pacheco took off in a Toyota Camry, but police officers found him nearby and arrested him. Officers found the black crow bar used in the attack and the criminal mischief.
