BROWNSVILLE–A Brownsville man was arrested on a warrant Sunday afternoon relating to a domestic violence case on New Year’s Eve.
Police said Luis Medrano, 36, was involved in a family violence call on December 31 when he assaulted his common-law wife. There wasn’t enough evidence to arrest him then.
After investigating the case a bit more and talking to prosecutors, law enforcement officers decided to charge him and got a warrant for his arrest.
Medrano was arrested on a charges of aggravated assault, two counts of child endangerment, failure to identify as a fugitive from justice and violation of a protective order.
Medrano is being held in the Cameron County Jail on a $77,000 bail.
