PHARR–The U.S. Customs and Border Protections officers seized about 55 pounds of cocaine at the Pharr Port of Entry and it’s worth about $1.7 million.
A 35-year-old woman from Reynosa, Mexico was crossing the Pharr International Bridge last Friday in a 2011 Ford Courier pickup truck when she was sent to secondary.
While in secondary, an inspection of car led to the discovery of 21 packages of cocaine hidden in the truck.
“Our frontline officers continue working hard to secure our nation’s borders and to prevent all types of contraband from entering our country. Our officers are doing great enforcement work.,” said Hector Mancha, the CBP Port Director for Hidalgo and Pharr.
The female driver was turned over to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further investigation.
