CORPUS CHRISTI–A man was arrested Wednesday night for three cases of copper theft from area churches in Corpus Christi.
Officers were called for a fight in progress and a witness accused Henry Waters, 26, of taking copper from an air conditioning unit from St. John’s Baptist Church.
The witness ran after Waters and tackled him. He held the suspect until police arrived. Police saw the copper tubing was removed from the air conditioning unit and identified Waters was in the process of committing the crime when caught.
Officers also obtained a confession from Waters. Waters admitted being involved in another copper theft from St. Paul United Methodist Church located at 1202 Sam Rankin the previous week. Waters was transported to the city jail.
