Man Rescued from SPI Jetty

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND–A man who suffered a leg injury on the jetty of South Padre Island was rescued by the Coast Guard on Saturday afternoon.

The Coast Guard Station on South Padre Island received a call reporting a man was caught on the rocks of the jetty on the north side.

The Coast Guard sent a 33-foot Response Boat-Medium and crew from Station South Padre Island and a MH-65C Dolphin helicopter and crew from Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi.

The Coast Guard helicopter crew found the man, hoisted him, and flew him to Coast Guard Station South Padre Island to awaiting EMS workers.
