11 Pounds of Meth Found at Brownsville Bridge

BROWNSVILLE–U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Gateway International Bridge discovered methamphetamines valued at approximately $170,000  on Saturday.

CBP officers at the Gateway International Bridge came in contact with the driver of a 2001 Nissan Sentra. The male driver, identified as a 20-year-old Mexican citizen who resides in Houston  was referred to secondary for further inspection.

After a primary examination revealed inconsistencies with the vehicle. CBP officers in secondary discovered 28 bundles hidden within the Sentra containing about 11 pounds of methamphetamine.

CBP officers turned the man over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) special agents for further investigation. CBP officers seized the narcotics and the vehicle.
