HIDALGO–Federal officers catch a man wanted by Rio Grande Valley authorities at a international bridge in South Texas.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Hidalgo Port of Entry apprehended a man on an arrest warrant for sexual assault from McAllen.
A CBP officer’s query on primary at the Hidalgo International Bridge last Thursday resulted in a referral of a man identified as Gerardo Elizondo, 20, a McAllen resident.
A CBP officer’s secondary checks of a national database revealed a possible warrant for sexual assault for Elizondo. CBP officers confirmed the warrant for Gerardo Elizondo with pending charges related to a case from the McAllen Police Department for sexual assault.
CBP officers arrested Elizondo and turned him over to the custody of the McAllen Police Department. Elizondo was transported to the McAllen city jail and will face pending charges.
