BROWNSVILLE–Customs and Border Protection officers have seized three drugs loads trying to cross into the United States at the same international bridge in Brownsville over the last week.
A 22-year-old Brownsville resident was stopped Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the Brownsville and Matamoros International Bridge in a white 2003 Jeep Liberty. During a search in secondary, CBP officers discovered 12 packages of cocaine concealed within the vehicle.
Two days later, a Los Fresnos resident, 22, arrived at B and M International Bridge in a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire. The man was sent to secondary for an inspection. CBP officers found seven packages of cocaine weighing about 18 pounds.
In the third case, a Matamoros resident arrived at the same bridge. Inside a Chevy Venture, CBP officers discovered 21 packages of marijuana hidden inside the car of a 21-year-old man. The drugs weighed out to about 57 pounds.
