Brownsville CBP Officers Seize $1.2 Million in Drugs


BROWNSVILLE–U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers made two different seizures that were worth more than $1.2 million at two different Brownsville international bridges

 CBP officers stopped a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox on May 10th that was being driven by a 24-year-old Matamoros driver. They discovered about 14 packages hidden in the car with about 31 pounds of cocaine worth more than a million dollars..

The second case happened last Sunday at Gateway International Bridge when CBP officers encountered a 47-year-old resident from Austin  and he waas sent for a seconday inspection.


CBP officers found 48 packages hidden within the Jetta of methamphetamine. It weighed out to about 14 pounds.It ws worth about $210,000.
