PHARR–A Reynosa woman is arrested last week after she is found smuggling more than a half million dollars worth of cocaine .
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Pharr/Reynosa International Bridge seized over 15 pounds of cocaine and arrested a Reynosa woman. The estimated street value of the cocaine is about $503,000
A 42-year-old female Mexican national arrived at the Pharr International Bridge accompanied by her 14-year-old son on May 9th. The adult female traveler presented a Mexican border crossing card for herself and the teen to the CBP officer.
Officers discovered six packages of cocaine weighing nearly 16 pounds that was hidden within the vehicle’s front dash area. CBP seized the cocaine and the vehicle as well.
The adult female traveler was turned over to the custody of U.S. Homeland Security Investigations. The young boy was released to an adult family member who was contacted and returned to Mexico together.
