PHARR– A Reynosa man was arrested last Thursday at the Pharr International Bridge after federal officers said he was caught with nearly $200,000 in methamphetamine valued at nearly $200,000.
Custom and Border Protection officers at the Pharr/Reynosa International Bridge encountered a white 1991 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by a 36-year-old male United States citizen who was living in Reynosa.
A CBP officer referred the lone occupant and vehicle to secondary for further inspection and it was there that officers discovered 12 packages weighing nearly 13 pounds of alleged methamphetamine concealed within the vehicle’s battery.
CBP seized the narcotics and report it had an estimated street value of about $193,000.
The adult male traveler was turned over to Homeland-Security Investigations (HSI) special agents.
